Contact Card

A contact card is a smart card that interacts with a reader through direct physical contact. Unlike contactless cards, which communicate with the reader through RF signals, they need to be inserted into or in direct contact with the reader to operate. Once inserted into the reader, the card’s chip makes contact with metal pins or connectors in the reader, allowing data to be exchanged between the card and the reader.
